Coming home

First walks, after the vaccines

The world is not won in an afternoon. It is won one pavement at a time, when the vet has said yes.

The temptation, on the first day of “clearance”, is the park. That is the wrong choice. A puppy that has just finished its vaccines still has a world to understand: tarmac, bicycles, other dogs, a bin that slams. You need little, and you need it close to home. The park will come. First it must learn that going out is not an assault.

  1. 01

    The calendar is the vet’s

Not a group, not a neighbour. We tell you what it has already received from us; the rest belongs to your own vet.

  2. 02

Ten minutes, always the same block

The same pavement, the same voice. The puppy needs to repeat, not to see everything.

  3. 03

Then you lengthen, you do not change everything

One more street, a calm meeting, a familiar patch of grass. “Everything at once” produces a dog that no longer knows where to look.

A successful first walk is the one after which you come home and the puppy sleeps. Not the one in which you toured the town.
