The three sizes
Three sizes, one unmistakable character.
Under FCI rules the dachshund is a single breed with three size varieties, separated by chest circumference measured at fifteen months. These are not marketing categories: they are dogs with different needs.

How they are distinguished
The reference measurements are those of the FCI standard. The actual build of any individual dog should always be assessed on that dog.

All FAQsHow do I reserve a puppy?
It starts with a conversation, not a payment. We talk about how you live, which size makes sense for you and which litters are planned. Only then, if there is a suitable puppy, do we move on to written arrangements.
What is the difference between kaninchen, miniature and standard?
They are three size varieties of the same breed, separated under FCI rules by chest circumference measured at fifteen months. Build, robustness and exercise needs change; the underlying dachshund character stays recognisable in all three.
At what age does a puppy leave?
Puppies go to their new homes at 75 days of age, with microchip, dog registry registration, health booklet and certificate of good health. The exact date depends on the individual puppy and on the paperwork required for the destination.
Can the puppy come to Europe?
Yes. We accompany puppies to families in Italy and across Europe. Collecting him at the farmhouse is the most beautiful moment; if you prefer, we arrange the journey to your home.
Does the puppy come with a pedigree?
For dogs with a registered pedigree, the documentation follows ENCI procedures and timescales. We tell you clearly, before any agreement, exactly what documentation applies to that particular puppy.
Do you carry out genetic testing?
Yes. Every one of our breeding dogs is tested and cleared as fit for breeding before joining our programme. We are happy to show you the results and to answer clearly any question about the parents’ health.
